In a statement issued on Thursday, Segun Adesanya, the founder of the Rere Foundation, emphasized that a decrease in fuel price would help alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians. Adesanya also urged Tinubu to address the monetary disparity between the naira and other foreign currencies.

Furthermore, the group emphasized the need for the President-elect to promptly address and eliminate the bottlenecks and bureaucracy that hinder employment opportunities in the country.

Adesanya stated, “The President-elect needs to ensure quality control for products and services provided by both private and public companies in Nigeria. There is a prevalence of inferior and substandard products across the country, with agencies such as the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) seemingly unable to effectively address the issue.”

The Rere Foundation also highlighted the issue of intimidation and brutality faced by Nigerian youths, which was a key trigger for the #EndSARS movement. Adesanya called on Tinubu to take steps to reassure the youth that their lives and rights matter.

He stressed the importance of impartiality in upholding the law, strict adherence to court orders and judgments, and the consistent application of principles of equity, fairness, and justice.

Adesanya expressed confidence that if these issues were addressed with conscious, deliberate, and consistent effort, it would restore hope in the country and rebuild the trust and interest of the Nigerian youth in their homeland.

As the President-elect prepares to assume office, expectations are mounting among Nigerians, who hope for tangible changes that will alleviate their daily struggles and improve their overall quality of life.

The Rere Foundation’s call to prioritize the reduction of fuel prices and address critical issues such as unemployment, product quality control, and youth empowerment reflects the concerns and aspirations of many citizens.

With Bola Tinubu set to assume the presidency, Nigerians eagerly anticipate the implementation of policies and initiatives that will promote economic growth, social development, and a fair and just society.
