Power Restored to Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, 4 Other Cities Aftermath Fire Outbreak at TCN
The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has announced that power has been restored to her customers in Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Iseyin and parts of Iwo and Ejigbo which experienced power outage due to a fire outbreak at a TCN sub-station in Ayede on Wednesday, the 5th of January, 2020.
The company through its acting chief technical officer, Engr. Felix Abiodun, said it appreciates all its customers affected for their patience and understanding during the temporary interruption in power supply.

Abiodun disclosed that the affected transmission’s sub-station supplies power to a sizeable area of IBEDC’s franchise. He also praised TCN’s and IBEDC’s engineers for their prompt response in restoring bulk supplies.
According to the TCN spokesperson, a TCN’s 150 MVA,330/132/33 KV, the fire incident was caused by a power transformer that caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday but it was contained a few hours later.
