Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar has urged Muslim faithful to cease the opportunity of the last 10 days of Ramadan to intensify prayers for the nation’s peace and security.
Abubakar gave the plea in a statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Secretary General of the NSCIA, Prof. Salisu Shehu.
The Sultan expressed concerns about the rising insecurity, deaths, tensions, fear and confusion in country.
He called on the governments at all levels to redouble their efforts in protecting lives and properties of Nigerians.
“The Council believes and urges all Muslims to continue to support all efforts to sustain a united and invisible Nigeria.
“The Council prays Almighty Allah to accept our supplications and grant us all the blessing of Ramadan.”
