EKO HOT BLOG reports that Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, dismissed the report via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, describing it as false and misleading.
He specifically referred to a publication by Leadership newspaper listing Yesufu among the new recipients of national honours as “fake news.”
“The story on a viral list of national honours featuring names of Aisha Yesufu and others credited to Leadership newspaper is fake news. It should be ignored,” Ajayi stated. “The Presidency has not issued any fresh honours list different from the ones in President Tinubu’s address to the joint sitting of the National Assembly yesterday.”
Ajayi reaffirmed that any official honours from the Presidency are always publicly announced through verified channels and that no new names have been added beyond those mentioned during the Democracy Day address.
Meanwhile, former Niger Delta militant leader and Chairman of Tantita Security Services, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has expressed strong support for President Tinubu, describing him as the only visionary leader capable of transforming Nigeria’s economy.
Speaking through Edgar Biu, Technical Adviser to the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Tompolo highlighted significant strides made in combating oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta, a region long plagued by economic sabotage.

The remarks were made during a press briefing in Abuja organised by the PBAT Door-2-Door Movement to mark Democracy Day. According to Biu, Tompolo praised Tinubu’s economic reforms and insisted that the President has shown both vision and commitment in executing his national agenda.
