President Buhari Arrives Maiduguri For Project Commissioning

EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital for the inauguration of a 50-Megawatts Power Plant and other viable projects executed by the state government.

This online media platform gathered that the president’s visit is part of his one-day official visit to Borno State to inaugurate the new 50 megawatts Maiduguri Gas Power plant constructed by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) as well as other projects.

It was learnt that the presidential jet landed at the Nigerian Air Force wing of the Maiduguri International Airport on Thursday at about 11.10 a.m. and the president was received by the state governor, Babagana Zulum, members of National and State Houses of Assembly, and some top government officials.

Other dignitaries that received the president were the Theatre Commander, North East Operation Hadin (OPHK), Maj.- Gen. Ibrahim Ali, Heads of security agencies, and community and religious leaders.

He is also expected to commission the Ahmadu Bello Way, Shehu Sanda Kyari, Lafiya and Mogoram Roads, the Cancer Center at the University of Maiduguri and the newly constructed Tashan Bama Motor Park, consisting of 475 shops and an administrative complex.

He will then proceed to the Maiduguri Monday Market that was recently razed down by the fire, as the president is said would be conducted around the scene by the General Manager of the market, Mustapha Loskorima.
