The appointment comes at a crucial time, following the completion of the National Theatre’s N68 billion renovation by the Bankers’ Committee, under the leadership of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The transformation of the iconic venue into a world-class cultural facility is expected to unlock its full potential and promote growth in the creative sector
Despite an initial nine-month projection, the extensive renovation took six years to complete. This delay can be attributed to the underestimation of the project’s scale and complexity, as well as interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The revitalized National Theatre now stands ready to serve as a world-class hub for the performing arts, cultural exchange, and creative enterprise.
In his role as Chairman, Holloway will spearhead efforts to ensure the sustainable management of this iconic cultural asset.
By collaborating closely with government agencies, private sector partners, and creative industry stakeholders, Holloway will work to fully realize the Theatre’s potential as a catalyst for artistic innovation and economic growth.
