President Bola Tinubu, along with several world leaders, attended the inauguration of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on Sunday at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event marked the official beginning of the papacy of Pope Leo XIV, who has been elected as the spiritual leader of the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics.

Following the inauguration mass, President Tinubu had the opportunity to briefly exchange pleasantries with Pope Leo XIV.
The two leaders engaged in a short conversation as they shook hands, joining other dignitaries such as U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in congratulating the newly inaugurated head of the Roman Catholic Church.
