President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the United States following the death of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100.

Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, died peacefully at his home in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by his family, according to a statement from The Carter Centre.
