The LP campaign DG has revealed that the party is compiling it result of the 2023 presidential election.
According to the DG the party will produce its own result just like every polling unit agent.
This is coming after the LP has been granted permission to inspect BVAS.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun has disclosed that the party is compiling their own results from the presidential election held on 25 February.
According to him, the party has its own result just like the poling units agents have theirs and currently, it’s been compiled.
The Labour Party DG made the disclosure on Wednesday when he was featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Osuntokun alleged that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) used for the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was “perverted.”
This online media platform recalls that the development from the Labour Party follows the declaration of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu as the winner and president-elect from the February 25th poll.
He said “BVAS has been perverted. Something that is to serve a good course has now been perverted. Because once the BVAS does its role – takes a picture of the results – the polling agents will have it.
“So, the polling agents have all the results and we have our own that is presently being compiled.”
Osuntokun, who made reference to some polls prior to the election said the Labour Party won some states by wider margins while insisting that his principal Peter Obi was victorious in the presidential election.
“It has been said before – about nine opinion polls – prior to the election said Obi was going to win,” he added.
The Labour Party chieftain however opined that INEC still has a chance to redeem itself at the conduct of the governorship election which has been postponed.
He submitted that “INEC has another opportunity on Saturday [governorship and state house of assembly elections] to redeem itself,” however, he will be “pleasantly surprised” if INEC conducts hitch-free polls on Saturday, which has been moved.
