Salihu Yakasai, an aide to the Kano governor, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed Nigerians over its inability to secure lives and properties.
Yakasai also called for president Muahammdu Buhari’s resignation over Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Yakasai’s comment came shortly after the news of the abduction of 300 female students of GGSS Jangebe, Zamfara, on Friday.
Despite being a top official in a major APC controlled state, Yakasai has been critical of the Buhari-led federal government and also very vocal at expressing his displeasure over the dispiriting state of the nation.
He was previously suspended for criticising Buhari.
In a tweet on Friday, Yakasai berated and described the president and the ruling All Progressives Congress as failure.
“Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number one duty we were elected to do, which is to secure lives and properties,” Mr. Yakassai said.
“Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.”
The schoolgirls were kidnapped from their school, GSS Jangebe Secondary School, around midnight.
Nine days ago, bandits breached a high school in Niger State and seized about 29 students and school administrators.
