Preview Of WWE SmackDown’s Final Episode Before ‘Hell In A Cell’- 18/06/21
The show will see two ‘kings’ battling it out for a crown.
We are all set for WWE SmackDown’s final episode before the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The blue brand will feature a major match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
WWE SmackDown to feature Roman Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio inside Hell in a Cell
WWE SmackDown Superstar Rey Mysterio recently took to Twitter to demand that he didn’t want to wait until the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view to get his hands on Roman Reigns. Instead, he wished to challenge the Universal Champion for his title on SmackDown itself, and the latter surprisingly agreed.
The feud between Reigns and the legendary luchador kickstarted on WWE SmackDown when The Usos got their title shots against The Mysterios.
Jey and Jimmy Uso came close to losing their second match against the champions, which prompted Reigns to brutally interfere. He first took Rey Mysterio out of the equation by slamming him with the steel steps.
Reigns then turned his attention towards Dominik. The Tribal Chief showed no mercy as he laid out a devastating attack on one half of the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Reigns’ brutality even prompted Jimmy Uso to leave the ring.
The following week, Rey Mysterio returned to challenge the Universal Champion to a title match inside Hell in a Cell.
“Sunday. Friday. Any day.
Makes no difference to me.
It’ll be my pleasure to disgrace what’s left of your family name tomorrow night inside Hell in a Cell!
My Special Counsel @HeymanHustle will handle the paperwork.
Commander Azeez set to make his in-ring debut on WWE SmackDown tonight
Last week on WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens and Big E teamed up to take on Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn. After an interesting in-ring battle, Owens pinned Zayn to win the match for his team.
However, Crews was not yet ready to accept defeat. The Intercontinental Champion took the mic and demanded a rematch against Owens and Big E.
He blamed his loss entirely on Zayn and stated that the result would be different if he was paired up with his ally, Commander Azeez. This led to a tag team match being booked between the four superstars for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
The match will also mark the SmackDown in-ring debut of Commander Azeez, who has worked well in aiding Crews over the last few weeks.
Now, Azeez will look to assert his dominance by targeting KO, and WWE could book a squash encounter to put him over with the viewers.
What’s next for Cesaro and Seth Rollins on WWE SmackDown?
Cesaro made an impressive return during WWE Smackdown last week, when Seth Rollins appeared as a special guest for Bayley’s talk show, “Ding Dong, Hello!”
Bayley and Rollins initially had a good time as they mocked Bianca Belair and Cesaro, respectively. Unfortunately, The Messiah’s laughter soon turned into gasps after Cesaro entered the ring and attacked him on WWE SmackDown. He reminded Rollins about how the latter needs to pay for his previous actions.
Cesaro then ripped Rollins’ suit and smashed him through the door, destroying Bayley’s set in the process.
Both superstars have been feuding on WWE SmackDown for a while now, and it appears that they are far from done.
We might see Cesaro and Rollins engage in another altercation this week, as the rivalry could work well in building momentum for both the superstars on the blue brand.
