Primary Six Pupil To Become One-Day Chairman Of Lagos Island Local Government
Amidu Ganiu, a primary six pupil of St Paul’s school, Breadfruit, Lagos Island, will become a one-day Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, 22nd of January during the visit of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Princess Remi Adebowale and the Chairman, Lagos Island LCDA, Mr. Tijani Olusi to primary schools in Lagos Island for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s ‘Snacks for Thought’ feeding program designed by the Office of Civic Engagement to feed over 11, 000 pupils in 33 schools across Lagos Island for 5 days.
The ‘Snacks for Thought’ initiative was kicked off on Monday, the 20th of January and has seen the likes of actor, Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo turn up to support, and today, comedians, Woli Arole and Asiri came out to support the initiative as well.
Speaking at St. Paul’s School, Breadfruit, Princess Adebowale commended pupils of the school for looking sharp and implored them to concentrate on their studies and avoid bad gangs.
Ganiu Amidu who will become a one-day LCDA Chairman was asked the name of the LCDA chairman of Lagos Island among other questions and he got the answers right.
Princess Adebowale subsequently commended him by giving him some money before making the announcement that he will become one-day Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government.
The local government chairman, Mr. Tijani Olusi commended the boy too and said that his office will put plans in place for the ceremony to hold in the coming days.
