EKO HOT BLOG reports that Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy and a childhood friend of the late singer Mohbad, has lodged a petition with the police against the deceased’s widow, Wunmi. The petition alleges false accusations and threats to life.
Concerns have arisen over the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, and the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death at the age of 27. Mohbad was signed under Marlian Records, owned by Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley.
Following Mohbad’s demise, Naira Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, were arrested and questioned by the Lagos State Police Command regarding their knowledge of the events leading to Mohbad’s death.
Primeboy, also under scrutiny, surrendered to the state police command on October 4, 2023. Subsequently, on March 12, Primeboy and Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending, visited the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.
Part of the bail conditions granted him during Mohbad’s case was that “he would come to the State CID every Tuesday to sign just to keep an eye on him so that he wouldn’t run away,” according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
Hundeyin said then that the afro singer was summoned for questioning over alleged defamation of character and other allegations cited in an earlier petition filed by Wunmi.
However, the petition was faulted by Mohbad’s family.
As contained in a statement on his Instagram account on Friday, Primeboy challenged Wunmi to come forward and reveal the truth about her late husband’s death.
Sharing the petition on his Instagram account, he wrote, “I told you to stop mentioning my name…… You didn’t stop……. Now It is time to tell the whole world the truth you said you know about what killed your boyfriend (Mohbad)….. Or you face the music!!!!!!!.”
The petition, filed by Alexime Law Associates on behalf of the singer, was addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos.
In the petition, Primeboy also accused Wunmi of employing State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) operatives to “intimidate and coerce” him into making a false confession regarding the alleged harm inflicted on Ilerioluwa Aloba (deceased), also known as Mohbad.
The petition stated, “Petition against Omowunmii Adebanji (Aloba) for threat to life, false accusation, and utilization of SCID personnel to intimidate and coerce Mr. Owodunsi Ibrahim (our client) into making a false confession of causing grievous bodily harm on Ilerioluwa Aloba (deceased), alias Mohbad.”
“Petition against Inspector Muhammed of State CID Panti for official high handedness, abuse of police powers and attempt to pervert justice contrary to Section 92 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
