In a momentous announcement for the Yoruba race, Prince Amb (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, CEO of Adedas and Company Global Services Limited, has been appointed as the Akinjagunla Aare Ona kakanfo of Yoruba Land.

The appointment was officially confirmed in a letter signed by the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, on December 10th, 2024.
The letter emphasized that Ewenla’s selection was a direct result of his consistent contributions to the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and his unwavering commitment to upholding the congress’s core ideals in advancing Yoruba culture.
The letter read:
“Having monitored your past activities in the OPC as well as your records and dedication to the ideals of the congress in the promotion of Yoruba culture and traditions, I am pleased to inform you that you have been confirmed as one of the beneficiaries of the honorary title holder under the prestigious stool of the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland.”
Iba Gani Adams stress the significance of this new role, stating that an official investiture would follow the confirmation of Prince Ewenla’s appointment.
The ceremony is set to take place during the seventh anniversary celebration of the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland on January 13, 2025, with a formal reception for the new titleholder scheduled for January 18, 2025.
In his message, Adams expressed confidence that Ewenla would leverage his new position to bolster the unity of Yorubaland and promote the values that are integral to the Yoruba people.
As the Akinjagunla Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland, Prince Ewenla is expected to collaborate closely with all members of the Council to achieve the collective aspirations of the Yoruba people and enhance the region’s cultural and social cohesion.
The Akinjagunla title holds considerable weight within the Yoruba traditional hierarchy, and is one of the esteemed honorary titles awarded under the Aare Ona kakanfo stool.
