Principal Officers: APC Govs Wade In To Broker Peace Between Adamu And NASS Leadership

Eko Hot Blog reports that The Progressive Governors’ Forum has stepped to intervene in the alleged conflict between the National Working Committee (NWC) of rulling All Progressive Congress and the presiding leaders of the National Assembly.

This move comes after the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu reportedly disowned the new appointees announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

Adamu had stated that the party has not officially communicated with the presiding officers and referred to their appointment as a “rumor.”

The governors believe that there may be a communication gap between the party and the high-ranking legislators.

The PGF Chairman and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, assured that the PGF will resolve the conflict using the internal mechanisms of the APC.

He emphasized that the National Assembly leadership has the support of the Progressives Governors Forum and the party as a whole.

The governors expressed confidence in the newly elected leadership and congratulated them on their positions.

Additionally, Uzodinma clarified that Adamu has mentioned the need for an audited account of the APC, but it has not yet been presented.

The meeting was attended by several governors, including those from Yobe, Lagos, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduna, Gombe, and Kebbi.
