Citing concerns over job losses and economic hardships, members of the National Assembly deemed it necessary to lift the ban, overriding the health considerations raised by NAFDAC.
“The livelihoods of our citizens are at stake, and we must address this urgent matter,” stated representatives during deliberations.
To delve deeper into the issue and prevent further economic ramifications, the House of Representatives committee on NAFDAC has initiated an investigation. Led by Hon. Regina Akume, the committee aims to evaluate the rationale behind the initial ban and explore alternative solutions to safeguard both public health and industrial stability.
“The suspension of the ban is pending the outcome of our thorough investigation,” affirmed Hon. Regina Akume, emphasizing the committee’s commitment to finding a balanced resolution.
