EKO HOT BLOG reports that initially set to start on October 14, 2024, the new deadline is now Thursday, November 14, 2024, according to a statement from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) spokesperson, Abdullahi Maiwada.

Earlier, the government had planned to ground over 60 private jets due to unpaid import duties totaling billions of naira. The extension gives owners more time to comply with the required regulations.

In the statement, Maiwada emphasized that the extension allows operators who are willing to regularize their import duties an additional opportunity to do so, ensuring transparency in the aviation sector.
