Ekohotblog, September 6, 2020…A Private school teacher, Akorede Hammed in Ilorin, Kwara state has been arraigned before a family court for alleged sexual molestation of his seven-year-old pupil, Ekohotblog reports.

According to the information available to our correspondent, the accused reportedly molested the little girl in a toilet in her school and after he had fiddling her, he allowed her to go. 

The victim reported the incident to her father who wrote a letter of complaint to the Area Command Metro, Ilorin, narrating how her daughter was allegedly sexually abused by the teacher.

Confirming the incident, the Police in its report, revealed that the incident was brought to their notice by the victim’s father after the girl had narrated how she was molested to him at home.

Police investigation revealed that the accused, who was the victim’s Yoruba teacher, absconded from school to an unknown place until he was later seen and arrested by the detective of the area command Metro.

He was dragged before the court on allegation of an act of gross indecency contrary to section 285 of the penal code law.

However on the first trial, the magistrate, Lawal stopped the proceeding due to the victim’s absence and adjourned the matter till 16th September 2020 for hearing.

Meanwhile, the wife of Kwara Governor, Mrs Folake AbdulRazaq has indicated an interest in the matter.

She was represented in court, International Federation of Women Lawyers and National Human Right Commission also stormed the court to watch the proceedings.
