Eko Hot Blog reports that renowned music producer Philip Ahaiwe Chukwuja, popularly known as Philkeys, has shared an interesting anecdote about turning down Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel’s offer for a studio session.
Philkeys revealed that Kizz Daniel, who was still an up-and-coming artist at the time, offered him a “meagre” sum of N50,000 for their collaboration.
Recalling the incident, Philkeys disclosed that he declined the offer due to his commitment to working with legendary musician King Sunny Ade. At that point in his career, Philkeys was already collaborating with the iconic artist and decided to focus on that endeavour.
However, fate had a different plan as Philkeys and Kizz Daniel eventually crossed paths again after the “Woju” crooner achieved stardom.
Following their reconnection, the duo collaborated on several songs, marking a fruitful partnership between the talented producer and the now-established artist.
Philkeys’ revelation sheds light on the dynamic nature of the music industry, where artists and producers often navigate through different opportunities and connections.
Despite the initial rejection, both Philkeys and Kizz Daniel found themselves working together in the future, showcasing the unpredictable nature of the industry’s collaborations.
As fans eagerly anticipate the potential musical masterpieces born from their partnership, this story serves as a reminder that paths in the music world can intertwine in unexpected ways.
