The highlight of the ceremony was the keynote lecture delivered by Fadilat Sheikh (Prof.) Ismail Musa, Chief Imam of the Unilag Central Mosque, who drew deep spiritual insights connecting human nature to the purpose of Qur’anic education.
Addressing parents, Islamic scholars, and invited dignitaries, Prof. Musa emphasized that the Qur’an is the only true path to eternal success, urging attendees to invest in the nourishment of the soul just as they care for their physical well-being.

Speaking passionately, the Chief Imam reminded the audience of the dual nature of human existence, describing man as a combination of flesh and spirit. He noted that while people often focus on worldly gains, the soul thrives on adherence to the Qur’an and righteous deeds.
He stressed that ceremonies like Wolimot Qur’an serve as vital opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection, and that the teachings of the Holy Qur’an endure far beyond the temporary achievements of life.

Prof. Musa further explained that a Muslim’s success, both in this world and the hereafter, is determined by the degree to which they internalize Qur’anic principles.
He quoted passages from the Qur’an, illustrating that believers must use their resources and abilities to secure lasting spiritual fulfillment, and encouraged Muslims to engage in good works, support their communities, and uphold moral conduct according to Qur’anic guidance.
Highlighting the comprehensive nature of Qur’anic education, the Chief Imam underscored that it is not limited to prayer but extends to daily behaviour, decision-making, and social interactions.
He concluded that those who live by the Qur’an are guaranteed eternal success, while worldly accomplishments are fleeting.
Parents, he added, should prioritize Islamic education for their children as it shapes character, strengthens morals, and fosters societal cohesion.
The maiden Wolimot Qur’an ceremony of Modrasah Rahmah ended on a solemn and inspiring note, leaving attendees with a renewed resolve to anchor their lives on the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
