Prof Onibon Hails College Administration As MOCPED Ranks 10th In Latest Ranking

• The seasoned academician was speaking on the heels of the latest ranking of the citadel of learning by Webometrics.

Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, the provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), has referenced the latest ranking of Colleges of Education as apt indices suggesting the college’s academic and administrative viability.

The seasoned academician was speaking on the heels of the latest ranking of the citadel of learning by The Ranking Web or Webometrics, a global organisation based in Spain, the “largest academic ranking of higher education institutions” based on tye assessment of Composite Indicators and Web Impact Factors.”

According to the latest ranking, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education was rated 10th best in Nigeria and 21518th in the world ranking of higher institutions, beating several Federal and State-owned Colleges of Education.

Reacting, Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon disclosed that the latest development was a milestone achievement which clearly indicates the stellar administrative and academic competence his administration ushered in since he took over the saddle of leadership a few years ago.

“The ranking is an indication of our positive visibility academically and administratively,” Onibon stated.

Onibon further restated the commitment of his administration to continually strive to raise the bar and also position the school towards further overall upswing.

Ekohotblog gathered that the ranking criteria as carried out by the management of Webometric was based on four ranking factors which include; openness rank, impact rank, presence rank and excellence rank.

The global ranking saw Tai Solarin University of Education(TASUED), Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri, and Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo emerge 1st – 3rd best respectively.
