Proffer Solutions Not Excuses For Obvious Failures, Abaribe Tells Buhari

A lawmaker representing Abia-South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop making excuses for obvious failures by his administration.

In a statement issued in reaction to President Buhari’s New Year Message, Abaribe who is also the Minority Leader of the Senate, urged the President to stop referring to the past as reasons for his administration’s inadequacies.

Abaribe said: “The legislature, particularly the minority caucus is ready to cooperate with the presidency in any sincere and genuine effort to tackle insecurity in our country and keep our people safe.

“Nonetheless, President Muhammadu Buhari must as a fact face governance and stop making excuses at every turn, especially his penchant at making references to 2015 as reasons why he fails to perform.

“It does not end at making broadcast, but in exhibiting genuine seriousness in governance for all Nigerians,”

He asked the President to proffer solutions to problems besetting the country, adding that the minority caucus is willing to cooperate with the Buhari-led administration in genuine efforts to provide good governance for the country.
