Prominent Kano Imam, Sheikh Nasir Is Dead

The Chief Imam of Fagge Juma’at Mosque, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Nasir, has passed away at the age of 87 after a prolonged illness.

He will be laid to rest at the Emir of Kano’s palace on Thursday.

Sheikh Nasir, also known as Limamin Waje, was a renowned Islamic scholar and had previously held the title of Wazirin Kano before being removed due to security concerns by former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chief Imam of Fagge Juma’at Mosque, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Nasir is dead.
He died on Wednesday after a protracted illness and will be buried on Thursday at the Emir of Kano’s palace.

The late Islamic scholar, popularly known as Limamin Waje, was 87 years old.
The deceased was turbaned as Wazirin Kano by the late Emir Ado Bayero but removed by former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso replaced him after citing security concerns, but Nasir refused to vacate the position.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has condoled with the family, followers and the people of Kano.
A statement by spokesperson Sanusi Bature described Nasir as “a scholar of repute” who contributed to the development of Islam.
