The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and Ikorodu Local Government have called on stakeholders to partner with security agencies in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure in the area.
They made the call on Thursday at a security town hall meeting themed, “Community and Stakeholders in the Protection of Critical National Assets” in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State, Mr Keshinro Adedotun, speaking at the meeting, stressed the need for collaboration among residents, traditional leaders, and security agencies.
Adedotun stated that safeguarding national assets was a core mandate of the NSCDC, and Lagos State had a high concentration of government assets and infrastructure, making protection crucial.
The commandant noted that collaboration with stakeholders was essential to achieving objectives, and the NSCDC would engage with communities to foster synergy and sensitise people to partner with them.
Mr Wasiu Adesina, Chairman of Ikorodu LG, pledged support for the agency and urged the NSCDC to intensify efforts on peace and security, protecting critical assets and infrastructure, and addressing issues like petroleum product hoarding.

The traditional ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, commended the NSCDC’s efforts and promised to provide information for their operations.
Retired Col. Samuel Agbanusi, a security consultant, appealed for residents and traditional rulers to provide intelligence to facilitate the work of security agencies.
