Protest Ends in Lagos as Governor Sanwo-Olu Introduces New Government Engagement Channels
Ekohotblog reports that the Lagos State Government has expressed gratitude to the protesters in Lagos for their peaceful resolution and their decision to end the demonstration following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s address today.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the protest leaders, stating, “The cessation of the protest today clearly indicates that you believe the government has acknowledged your collective concerns. Your actions have been both noble and civil.”

In a bid to reinforce the Lagos State Government’s commitment to ongoing dialogue with the youth, Governor Sanwo-Olu has instructed that the discussions and engagements initiated before the protest continue.
To facilitate this, the Governor has directed the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the Ministry of Information and Strategy, and the Office of Civic Engagement to establish expanded communication channels with various stakeholders, including protest leaders.The designated Citizens Access Lines for these departments are:

The Governor also cautioned citizens to remain vigilant against those who might attempt to sow discord by spreading misinformation through audio and video channels. He urged Lagosians to reject any attempts at incitement and maintain the city’s tradition of peace.

Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Lagosians for their rejection of chaos and their embrace of peace, acknowledging the professional conduct of security agencies, including the Police Command, Department of State Services, Military, Civil Defence, and Neighbourhood Watch.
He also highlighted the crucial roles played by traditional rulers, civil society organizations, community leaders, religious leaders, and student leaders in preserving the city’s tranquility.
The Governor reassured all Lagosians to continue their activities without fear, emphasizing that the city remains safe.
