Hoodlums stole no fewer than 205 chairs, musical instruments, and other equipment worth millions of naira from a Living Faith Church in Katsina State.
The theft occurred during the ongoing nationwide protest against hardship.
The attackers, who arrived around 10:00 am in tricycles, forcibly entered the church by breaking doors and windows.
Pastor David Sarki reported that the theft prevented the church from holding its service. He explained that the hoodlums took everything from the church auditorium, including a digital wall clock, musical instruments, a pulpit, pastor’s chairs, plastic chairs, a desktop computer, and a scoreboard used for church documents.
The attackers targeted three churches, successfully invading Living Faith Church and Deeper Life, but were unable to access the Anglican Church due to its strong security.
The church has notified the police and army about the incident, and the police have indicated that arrests have been made.
Pastor Sarki expressed his shock and condemned the attack, stating that churches, as places of worship, should be respected.
He called for repentance from the perpetrators and urged the government to address the root causes of the protests rather than allowing violence against religious institutions.
