Protesters Reportedly Storm Wike’s Residence in Port Harcourt

The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters have stormed the house of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.

Nyesom Wike, currently serving as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, had strongly opposed the protests in Abuja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that while the protests have subsided in Abuja, they continue to gain momentum in Wike’s home state.

On Tuesday, August 6, protesters gathered outside the former governor’s mansion in Port Harcourt as the demonstrations entered their sixth day.

In response, the Nigerian Police Force has deployed more officers to the area to maintain order and ensure everyone’s safety.

On the first day of the protests, demonstrators also stormed the Government House, publicly embarrassing Governor Sim Fubara, who had attempted to offer them money for bottled water.
