Proud Celeb: Outrage As Iyanya Angrily Pushes Fan In Anambra

Popular Nigerian singer, Iyanya encounters outcry from angry fans after the musician shoved a fan off the stage during a performance in Awka, Anambra State.
In a bid to play damage control, the Afropop musician pleads self-defence against the fan as he alleges the fan tried to slap him with money.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that an incident with Nigerian Afropop singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk in Anambra State during a live performance on stage did not sit right with a lot of Nigerians on social media.

The Afropop singer was seen to have acted violently against a fan on stage while they made moves to spray money on him.

The musician who goes under the alias Iyanya as a stage name, angered lots of Nigerians over on social media the minute the video surfaced online.

Following fan outrage on social media, the pop singer quickly took on to Twitter to play damage control.

According to his tweet, the violent reaction was prompted by an equally opposite reaction that came from the fan actively trying to slap money on his face.

He wrote on his social media platform stating:

“The guy kept slapping my face with the money, and I tried to hold his hand, and he continued. First, no matter how much you are spraying, don’t slap someone with it, that’s disrespectful.”

Despite the explanation, the act wasn’t taken in a positive light by Nigerians who rose to share their opinions on the celebrity.

One social media user could be captured as stating:

MrCruiseSA: “If it’s abroad now, you won’t do that. It’s only Nigerian fans that you people always treat in this manner. Yes, he was wrong, but he didn’t know. Pushing him off the stage was bad. I blame those who are still watching your dead career on stage.”

aramicom01: “He can go scot-free with this but might not go scot-free next time. Power drunken celebrity.”

Vitus: “Usual Proud Iyanya. Maintain your comeback so that you don’t fade as usual. This pride that you get since project fame has not taught you a lesson.”
