The Lagos State Government has drawn the attention of the public to a recent scam being perpetrated by some land grabbers, popularly known as Omo Onile, using the state’s logo to sell government lands in Ibeju-Lekki and Kosofe to unsuspecting buyers.
A video uploaded on the state government’s Facebook page said the perpetrators place fake signposts that bear acquisition application file numbers on the lands.

The affected villages in Ibeju-Lekki include Okenla, Idake. Ajao Oki, Ladegbole, Imedu, Iratirin, Iraboku among others as well as Oshiun village in Kosofe Local Government Area.
The government enjoins land buyers to make enquiries at the Lagos State Lands Bureau and Office of The State Surveyor General before concluding any land transaction.
