EKO HOT BLOG reports that the match, played in an emotionally charged atmosphere, began with a minute of silence in honour of late Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his brother André, who were laid to rest earlier in the day. Players and fans united to pay tribute to the Portuguese forward and his sibling before kickoff.
Once the action began, both teams displayed aggressive attacking football. PSG’s 21-year-old Désiré Doué had an early chance in the third minute but fired wide. Bayern quickly responded as Michael Olise tested PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a sharp effort just two minutes later.
The French side continued to press, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hitting the side netting in the 18th minute, while Fabian Ruiz missed a close-range opportunity shortly after. Donnarumma, however, emerged as PSG’s hero with several crucial saves, including an outstanding stop from Jamal Musiala in the 41st minute.
The first half was filled with drama. In the 29th minute, Doué went down in Bayern’s penalty area, but the referee waved away penalty appeals. Bayern thought they had scored on the stroke of halftime, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
The second half started with Bayern making a forced substitution as Serge Gnabry replaced Musiala, who appeared to have suffered a serious injury following a collision with Donnarumma.
Despite Bayern’s pressure, they could not find a breakthrough as Donnarumma continued to frustrate them. PSG’s chances kept coming, with Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé testing Bayern’s Manuel Neuer.
The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Doué finally found the net to give PSG the lead. Just minutes later, Bayern’s Willian Pacho was shown a straight red card in the 82nd minute, reducing the German side to ten men. Harry Kane thought he had levelled for Bayern in the 87th minute, but his goal was disallowed for offside.
In added time, PSG defender Lucas Hernández received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 92nd minute. Despite Bayern’s late surge, PSG struck on the counter in the 96th minute through Dembélé to seal the victory.

With the win, PSG advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup. They will face either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the next round, while Bayern Munich’s campaign comes to an end.
