EKO HOT BLOG reports that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) sporting director, Luis Ocampos, is set to meet with Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, during the current international break to discuss the possibility of the Nigerian moving to the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
Reliable transfer expert, Santi Aouna, confirmed the meeting’s purpose, which is aimed at convincing the young forward to join PSG instead of moving to the Premier League.
This will be the second meeting between Ocampos and Calenda on the subject, as PSG looks to secure Osimhen’s signature ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United, who are reportedly interested in the Nigerian’s services. The 22-year-old has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League, but PSG is keen to convince him otherwise.
Napoli, Osimhen’s current club, will be hoping to earn €150 million from his sale. The Italian club signed the forward from Ligue 1 side Lille in 2020.
Osimhen has been in impressive form for Napoli this season, despite injury setbacks, and has also caught the eye of top European clubs. The Nigerian international has the pace, power and finishing ability that make him a valuable asset to any team.
PSG, on the other hand, is looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season, and Osimhen is seen as a suitable candidate. With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar leading their front line, the French giants believe that Osimhen can provide the necessary depth and quality to their attacking play.
The meeting between Ocampos and Calenda is expected to be a crucial one for PSG, as they aim to persuade Osimhen to join them instead of the Premier League clubs. It remains to be seen what kind of offer PSG will make for the Nigerian forward, but if they are serious about signing him, they will need to come up with a competitive proposal.
It is clear that Osimhen is a highly sought-after player, and his potential move to PSG would be a significant boost for the Ligue 1 champions. However, they will face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester United, who are also in the market for a striker.
Ultimately, the decision will rest with Osimhen, and it remains to be seen whether he will opt for a move to the Premier League or a switch to PSG. Regardless of where he ends up, there is no doubt that he has the talent to become one of the best strikers in world football in the coming years.
