PSSDC Remains A 21st-Century Training Institution – Ajose-Harrison

The Director-General, Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison has reaffirmed the institution’s capabilities and relevance in the training and retraining of Public Servants for efficient and effective service delivery, saying PSSDC remains a 21st-century training institution.

Ajose-Harrison made this disclosure on Thursday at the closing ceremony of four training programmes organised by the institution for different cadres of Lagos State public servants.

He gave an assurance that the institution would continue to remain relevant in capacity building and competition with other institutions globally hinging his optimism on the quantum of support that the current administration has extended towards upgrading PSSDC into a Public Service University.

The Director-General said the institution’s current priority is to increase the number of new inductees being trained from 150 to 250 people, a feat that will be achieved through its Learning Management System.

He reiterated that the State Government has put a premium on the training of its workforce so that they can align with the six development pillars of the administration, assuring that a conducive environment exists for capacity building and scientific research.

He, therefore, urged participants to display excellence at work and apply their fresh ideas in service delivery as expected by the government in its drive towards a Greater Lagos.

About 180 participants benefited from the four training programmes namely, Effective Transportation Management; Effective Presentations Using MS-PowerPoint; Monitoring and Evaluation and Understanding MTSS; Programmes-based Budgeting and Budget Profiling Reform Template.
