PTF Blames Spike In COVID-19 Infections On Travels, Activities Of Worship Centres, Others

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has declared that increased local and international travels were among the major factors responsible for the increase in the number of infections recorded across the country since November 2020. 

While addressing journalists on Monday in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and PTF Chairman, Boss Mustapha, also listed as reasons increased business and religious activities, reopening of  with COIVID-19 safety measures.

Mustapha faulted the attitude of some state governments towards the management of the second wave of the virus, adding that no state in the country is immune to the pandemic even if reports are not coming out of such states.

The SGF however implored citizens to stay away from activities that can expose them to the virus as the nation’s tally crossed 100,000.

He announced that government has concluded plans to roll out the pilot exercise on the use of Rapid Diagnostic Test-Kits (RDTs).
