Quilox Club Leads Campaign with NAFDAC to Tackle Fake Drinks in Nightclubs

Quilox Club Teams Up with NAFDAC to Fight Fake Drinks in Nightclubs

Quilox Club, in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has launched a campaign to tackle the issue of counterfeit drinks in nightclubs.

The initiative, part of Quilox’s 11th anniversary celebrations, aims to raise awareness about the dangers of fake drinks and encourage the entertainment industry to prioritize safe and genuine products.

At a press briefing in Lagos, Quilox’s Chief Operating Officer, Akinlabi Peller, emphasized the club’s dedication to offering only authentic, NAFDAC-approved beverages. He explained that Quilox sources its drinks directly from manufacturers or certified suppliers and ensures they have unique serial numbers to confirm their authenticity.

“For 11 years, we have maintained strict standards to guarantee our drinks are genuine,” Peller said. “We encourage other clubs to join us in this effort to eliminate counterfeit drinks and protect public health by collaborating with NAFDAC.” As part of the anniversary celebration, Quilox will host a 36-hour non-stop party starting on December 22.

NAFDAC’s Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Shaba Mohammed, praised Quilox for its compliance with the agency’s regulations. He noted that NAFDAC recently shut down over 10 outlets found selling counterfeit drinks in December.

“Quilox has consistently set an example by adhering to NAFDAC standards. Our unscheduled inspections have shown that they maintain excellent practices,” Mohammed said. He stressed the importance of collective efforts in the fight against fake drinks, thanking Quilox for its support.

Kunle Ojo, Assistant Director in NAFDAC’s Water and Drink Division, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for partnerships between businesses and regulators to tackle counterfeit products effectively.

Olushola Farinloye, Quilox’s Managing Director, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to sourcing drinks directly from producers, ensuring customers always receive safe and authentic beverages.
