Rachel Oniga: Family Announces Burial Arrangements

  • The family of late veteran Actress Rachel Oniga, who died on July 30, 2021, has announced her burial arrangements.

EkohotBlog reports that the family of the late Actress Rachel Oniga whose death shocked fans across the world, have now concluded her burial arrangements.

Recall that Actress Rachel Oniga died on July 30, 2021 to the shock of many. Her last movie appearance was “My Village People”; a comedy flick of the comedian Bovi Ugboma which premiered on June 6.

Rachel Oniga was born on the 23rd of May, 1957, in Ebute Metta, Lagos State. In 1993, shortly after her divorce, she ventured into acting.

EkohotBlog confirmed that Actress Rachel Oniga worked for a brief moment at a Consultancy Company owned by a Dutch Company “Ascoline Nigeria Limited.”

The first movie appearance of Ms Oniga was “Onome”, before her debut in the Yoruba movie titled “Owo Blow.”

During her lifetime, she featured in numerous Nigerian movies notably “Sango”, a movie written by Wale Ogunyemi. She worked with many industry stars during her lifetime.

Many people hold profound memories of Rachel Oniga beyond her acting career as she was described as a philanthropist and mother who lived a good life.

A coalition of NGOs and friends of the veteran Actress have planned to host a symposium in commemoration with the theme: “Living A Good Life (The Legacy of an Icon)” which is scheduled to hold on August 23rd at Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Veteran actors such as Prince Jide Kosoko, Mrs Joke Silva, Ms Kate Henshaw, Mr Emeka Rollas, Mr Charles Inojie are guest speakers at the event with Ms Gloria Young as moderator.

Conclusively, the burial arrangements for the veteran Actress has been concluded by her family and has been slated to hold on the 26th and 27th of August 2021. The 26th will feature church service and songs at Catholic Church Resurrection at Magodo phase 2.

The Lagos State Governor; Babajide Sanwo Olu, the Commissioner for Arts, Tourism and Culture; lawmaker Desmond Eliot, Actress Kate Henshaw, Mo Abudu and other great dignitaries are expected to grace the event. Also, delegates from Europe and America have arrived in Nigeria to honour the veteran Actress and bid farewell.

Indeed, Rachel Oniga lived a good life that is worth remembering and emulating. We wish them a peaceful rest in the world beyond and celebrate her life with family, friends and fans across the globe.
