– Police find no substantial evidence against D’banj after investigation.
– STER says the victim decided to settle out of court with the accused singer.
The lawsuit against Nigerian singer, D’banj, for alleged rape has been withdrawn by the victim, Ms. Seyitan.
The new development comes after the Nigerian Police concluded investigations on the case and found no substantial evidence to support Ms. Seyitan’s claims.
Our correspondent had gathered in the last few months, the singer has been on edge over a rape accusation leveled against him by Ms. Seyitan. The latter reported on twitter that the singer forcefully had canal knowledge of her in a hotel in Lekki in 2018.
As the investigation into the matter continued, the said lady had raised an alarm that the singer had her detained by the police and drew the attention of many Nigerians who pledge their support to the cause of the case.
However, the Nigerian police force has found no evidence against D’banj on the complaints against him and has ordered investigations discontinued.

Also reacting to the latest development, Stand To End Rape (STER), issued a statement on Twitter detailing the timeline of events and it’s involvement.
STER noted it had followed up on Ms. Seyitan’s case from the moment she came out with her rape case against D’banj, through her ordeal in the hands of the Nigerian Police and subsequent abduction by D’banj’s team.
The organization added that it had to decline an invitation by Ms. Seyitan and Mr. Segun Awosanya (@segalink) for an out of court settlement as it goes against the organization’s policy and also contravenes Section 97 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State.
