Rape Victims: Atiku Condoles With Families, Calls For Justice

Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the #JusticeForUwa and #JusticeForBarakat Trends.

Recall a 22-year-old undergraduate of the University of Benin(UNIBEN), Uwa Omozuwa, was raped and murdered while reading in a church in Benin, Edo State.

Ekohotblog earlier reported how Uwaila was raped and murdered inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Benin, Edo State.

This online news platform also reported that 18-year-old Barakat was also raped and murdered close to her Dad’s house at Akinyele Local Government Area in Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday night.

Reacting via his official Twitter handle, the former vice-president said that rapist(s) of both victims and others should be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

“After speaking with the Omozuwa family, my attention was drawn to yet another rape and murder of another young lady, Barakat Bello, in Ibadan. As a father, I know what it is like to deal with such a loss. We are racing against time.

“It is crucial that the rapist(s) of Barakat and all other victims are speedily brought to justice to serve as a deterrent. -AA.
