Rashford Sends Message To Man Utd Players Over Ronaldo Amid Current Woes

Rashford has sent a message to Man Utd players over Ronaldo amid current woes.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, has called on his teammates to help Cristiano Ronaldo end his wait for a goal from open play.

The Portugal international has netted just a penalty since the beginning of the season and doesn’t appear to be first-choice when it comes to being Erik ten Hag’s No 9. There’s talk the 37-year-old still wants to leave the club, too, having failed to secure an exit during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United saw Ronaldo impress last term following his blockbuster return from Juventus, with the veteran scoring 24 goals across all competitions.

However, the Portugal international has made just four starts so far this season – with three of them coming in the Europa League.

Ronaldo was frustrated on Thursday night as he drew a blank in United’s 3-2 win over Omonia, with Marcus Rashford bagging a brace and Anthony Martial netting in the victory in Cyprus.

And Rashford has now spoken out about his team-mate, insisting he and his team-mates will continue to do all they can to help the former Real Madrid and Juventus star regain his goalscoring touch.

Ronaldo is an unbelievable player – and he’s been an unbelievable player ever since I watched him as a youngster,” he said.

It is a joy to play with him. We can keep building and when he starts scoring goals, he won’t stop.

“So, yes, there were times I was very disappointed last season – but I think that’s normal.

“Ask any player, they are not happy if they are losing or drawing games.
“We have such high expectations of ourselves and each other. But I think we are definitely improving.

“There are obviously things we need to tighten up on and improve on. And obviously the last game in the league wasn’t good enough by anyone’s standards and we let people down.

“It was a bit embarrassing after the game. But these results can happen in football and the only way to come back is to win your next game.

“It is still early days, but the more we get to know him, the better we will become and the more he gets to know us as well.

“I’m just looking forward to winning games.”

Next up for United is a tricky test against Frank Lampard’s resurgent Everton side at Goodison Park on Sunday.
