RCCG Opens Investigation into Homosexuality Claims, Seeks Evidence from Church Members

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has released a dedicated phone number and email for members and the public to submit evidence as part of its investigation into allegations of homosexual misconduct involving two church leaders.

Reports on Tuesday revealed that Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa had been suspended following allegations of inappropriate conduct with young church members. RCCG has appointed the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to lead a thorough investigation, expected to be completed within two weeks.

Akande clarified that the church is conducting a comprehensive investigation and, as a precautionary measure, the two ministers have been placed on indefinite suspension and removed from all church duties until the case is resolved.

He emphasized RCCG’s foundation on holiness and commitment to transparency, noting that the church will not tolerate actions against its core values or cover up misconduct.

“We appreciate any assistance and request that individuals or groups with credible evidence come forward with the necessary details,” the statement concluded.
