Re: Awori Descendants Stakeholders Demand On LASUED

LASUED

The attention of The Concern Epe Youths and Stakeholders was drawned to a publication of our respected people of Awori of the Otto-Ijanikin Axis of Lagos raising certain concerns on our dear citadel of learning, LASUED.

EDITOR’S PICKS

Recall that the Lagos State University of Education, Otto-Ijanikan is the amalgamation of the two Lagos State owned Colleges of Education (AOCOED & MOCPED).

The two Colleges of Education (MOCPED & AOCOED) were a full fledge independent Institutions either of which can be a Main Campus. But due to the understanding and peaceful nature of our dear people of Epe Division, AOCOED, Oto-Ijanikin was accepted as the main being the main campus with another in MOCPED, Noforija, Epe.

It is however disheartening to come across the publication of the Awori people on some demands that might end up disrupting the peaceful existence of the Centre of Excellence.

We like to state that we have accepted the above decision of the State Government and the distribution of Colleges and programmes to the two Campuses out of magnanimity and love for peace and not out of coward and intimidation.

We believe both Epe and Ijanikin Campuses are co-hosts to the Tertiary Institution (LASUED), and Epe is never an Annex by all standard and should not be taken as such. Therefore, Appointments into the University should have representatives form both communities in all the statutory establishments of the University.

Also, the then Provost of the Adeniran Ogunsanya Campus has been confirmed as the substantive vice chancellor of LASUED, without any hesitation, we all accept it with love and support it with prayer.

The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) was established to accommodate more Lagosians into the University system to earn their Bachelor Degrees irrespective of their area, division or local government of origin in the state.

Admission of students and the staffing process should accommodate all indigenes of Lagos without been biased to a particular area.

We call on the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu to prevent all kinds of protest that could affect the love and smooth running of the State.
We accept with love the courses given to the Michael Otedola Campus and if for any reasons be moved, we won’t hesitate to shut down the entire campus.
