According to the Washington Post, Obama believes Biden’s path to victory has diminished and suggests the 81-year-old should “seriously consider the viability of his candidacy.”
Obama’s influence within the Democratic Party remains significant, given his tenure as president and Biden’s vice presidency under his administration from 2009 to 2017.
His opinion adds to the growing chorus within the Democratic Party urging Biden to step aside after a challenging debate performance against Donald Trump.
Despite these concerns, Biden, currently isolating with COVID-19 at his beach house, has dismissed worries about his age and fitness, asserting his intention to remain in the race for the White House.
