Real Madrid Don’t Need Either Pogba Or Eriksen -Rivaldo

Former Brazil star, Rivaldo, has said Real Madrid do not need either of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen who currently turns out for Tottenham Hotspurs.

According to Rivaldo, both players would not have trouble fitting in well at the Santiago Bernabeu but he nonetheless stated that the Spanish giants do not need them.

With Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, confirming he is in the process of negotiating a move away from Old Trafford this summer, Madrid and his former club, Juventus are said to the top the list of his destinations.

On his own, Eriksen has just a year left on his contract with Tottenham, with Zinedine Zidane-coached Madrid said to want him in replacement of James Rodriguez believed to be close to the exit door.

“The press are saying that Madrid needs to reinforce their midfield, with Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba among the rumoured targets. Both are excellent players and would fit well at the Bernabeu.

“In spite of their bad pre-season, I’m not sure that Madrid needs reinforcements,” he wrote in a column for Betfair.

“Critics of Madrid’s midfield should not forget that Casemiro is only returning to the team now after injury, so they have been playing without their starting defensive midfielder and one of the most important players,” he added.
