“The suspension is effective from Oct. 28, following a meeting of the Fan Club’s Executive Council; he remains suspended till May 28, 2025. That day coincides with the end of the football season,” it said.
The suspension has ignited debate among fans, sparking discussions on what loyalty truly means in sports fandom.
Some argue that enforcing strict penalties could be counterproductive, especially as fan clubs globally work to expand membership and embrace a more inclusive culture.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Barcelona secured a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the season’s first El Clasico on October 26.
