EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 20-year-old impressed in his debut Premier League season after joining Bournemouth from Juventus in 2024 for £12.8 million. His rapid rise caught the attention of several top clubs, but Madrid moved swiftly to secure his services.

In an official statement on Saturday, the Spanish giants announced: “Real Madrid and Bournemouth have finalised an agreement for the transfer of Dean Huijsen, who will join our club for the next five years, from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030.”

Bournemouth confirmed the activation of Huijsen’s release clause and noted that both Juventus and Malaga, his former clubs, are expected to receive solidarity payments from the transfer.

Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen moved to Spain with his family at the age of five and developed through the youth system at Malaga before moving to Juventus. He made his international debut for Spain in March 2025 against the Netherlands, helping La Roja secure a crucial win to reach the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.

The centre-back is expected to play a role in Real Madrid’s campaign at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where the Spanish club will begin their tournament against Al-Hilal on June 18 in Miami.

Madrid is undergoing a period of transition following a disappointing season in which the team suffered 14 defeats across all competitions and failed to win a major trophy. Manager Carlo Ancelotti is set to depart to take charge of Brazil’s national team, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso widely tipped as his successor.
