La Liga requested that the Spanish football federation (RFEF) postpone both Valencia and Villarreal’s Saturday matches, as well as three second-division games involving teams from impacted areas.
“In professional and non-professional competitions, both 11-a-side and indoor football (in the Valencia region), matches have been agreed to be postponed,” read an RFEF statement.
The federation had already postponed several midweek Copa del Rey first-round matches, including Valencia’s match against Parla Escuela.
In solidarity with the victims, a moment of silence will be observed across all matches in Spain this weekend, including league leaders Barcelona’s Catalan derby against Espanyol on Sunday.
