Hushpuppi and Kyari
EKO HOT BLOG reports that it is no longer news that the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has ordered the arrest of the under-fire Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari, over his alleged connection with suspected internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi, on the arrest of another suspected fraudster, Chibuzor Vincent, following a dispute over a $1.1 million dupe of a Qatari businessperson.
A document issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of California and dated February 12, 2021, revealed that Hushpuppi contracted the services of Abba Kyari after Chibuzo allegedly threatened to expose an alleged $1.1m fraud committed against the business person.
Sequel to their investigation, the FBI had asked the United States District Court to order the arrest of DCP Abba Kyari for ten days.
Abba Kyari has since been suspended as the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, later appointed DCP Olatunji Disu to provisionally replace Kyari.
However, reports have shown that there are three reasons why the Nigerian Police Authority may not hand over Abba Kyari to the United States FBI for prosecution.
FBI Will Not Allow Any Of Their Officers To Be Extradited To Nigeria For Prosecution
EKO HOT BLOG reports that one of the reasons the Nigerian Police Authority may not hand over DCP Abba Kyari to the FBI for prosecution in the US is that the FBI will not hand over any of its officers to Nigeria for criminal prosecution.
This is also the same reason the police will prosecute Abba Kyari in Nigeria rather than agreeing to release him to the FBI for trial in the United States.
IGP Has Ordered A Review of the Allegations Against Abba Kyari
EKO HOT BLOG recalls that the Nigeria Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, had ordered a review of the allegations against DCP Abba Kyari.
The police cannot release its official to the FBI for trial without reviewing the allegations leveled against him.

This is why the IGP ordered a review of the case against Abba Kyari.
It must be noted that the case against Kyari by the FBI remains an allegation until it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Police Service Commission Said It Would Determine Kyari’s Fate
Another reason why the Nigerian Police Authority may not hand over Abba Kyari to the FBI is that the Police Service Commission (PSC) has waded into the allegation against one of its officers.
The PSC had stated that it would determine Abba Kyari’s fate and not the leadership of the Nigerian police. This is why the leadership of the Nigerian Police cannot hand over Kyari to the FBI for trial.
EKO HOT BLOG understands that the Police Service Commission had also stated that if Abba Kyari is found culpable of the allegations leveled against him, he might face dismissal, demotion, and prosecution.
