On 14th February, Lorient took on giants Monaco in the league and Terem Moffi was the man of the moment.
The Nigerian youngster almost propelled 17th placed Lorient to a victory over 4th placed Monaco.
He opened the scoring in the 7th minute via the penalty spot, getting his brace in the 62nd minute after Monaco had levelled.
Thanks to a late equalizer from Wissam ben Yedder, Moffi would have won all 3 points for Lorient.
The 2020/21 campaign has been a prolific one for Moffi who has been scoring goals for fun including a winner against PSG some weeks ago.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG , Moffi now has 8 goals in the Ligue 1, and 9 across all competitions, making him the highest-scoring Nigerian in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
With such a performance, there is no doubt that the 21-year-old is ripe and ready to represent his fatherland, and with the AFCON qualifiers scheduled for next month, Moffi might just be getting his first call up to the senior national team.
With strikers like Moffi, Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu and co having a good season it now looks that the future is bright for the country in the attacking department.
