Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government is set to transform an Old Colonial District Officers’ office in Epe into the Epe Tourist Information Centre and Museum.
Mr. Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed the plan during a recent visit to the site.

According to a statement, Aregbe led a delegation of Directors from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture to inspect the old colonial office.
The statement said the inspection was in a bid to enhance tourism and preserve cultural heritage.
“The site, steeped in historical significance, is set to undergo a transformation into the Epe Tourist Information Centre and Museum,” it reads in part.
“The initiative, approved by the governor, marks a pivotal step in revitalizing Epe’s tourism sector and showcasing its rich heritage to visitors and locals alike.
“The establishment of the Epe Tourist Information Centre and Museum not only promises to attract tourists but also serves as a testament to the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural landmarks.”
During the inspection, Aregbe and the team were said to have evaluated the site, envisioning its potential as a hub for cultural exchange and education.
“With its strategic location and historical importance, the revamped center is expected to become a focal point for tourists seeking to delve into Epe’s captivating past and vibrant present,” the statement continued.
