Relief As Jumat Services Reopen In Epe After Four Months Closure of Worship Centres

– Jumat services on Friday commenced in Epe following the State Government directive for the gradual reopening of worshipping Centres.

– It is gathered many Mosques on Friday observed Jumat prayers as they adhered to the laid down norms on COVID-19.

– The Muslim Clerics in their Sermon prayed for the nation and equally offered prayers for the wellbeing of the citizenry.

It was a moment of relief in Epe as Jumat service commenced at various Central Mosques, following the recent directives by the Lagos State Government for the reopening of worship centers in the state with strict observance of COVID-19 protocols.

While observing the worshippers adherents to COVID-19 guidelines, a correspondent with Epe News who visited Ansar-Ud-deen Society of Nigeria Central Mosque, First Epe Central Mosque, Oke Balogun and Epe Central Mosque, Ita Opo gathered that all those that attended the Jumat services did so in compliance to the guidelines set forth by the Government including the seating arrangements

While welcoming back the congregation, the Muslim Clerics in their separate sermons advised the worshippers to reflect deeply on their existence and the lessons that they have derived so far from the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been quite a humbling experience, he said

The Clerics further offered prayers for the nation and equally solicits Allah’s protection for the citizenry.

Our correspondent, however, gathered that some of the Mosques were still locked since they could not meet up with the laid down norms that are expected to be in place before they reopen eventually.

It could be recalled that Governor Sanwo-Olu on Saturday 1st August 2020 ironed out some norms that would pave the way for the gradual reopening of worship centers which include wearing of face masks, observance of physical distancing, using of hand sanitizers, worshipping for at most an hour, and non-parking of vehicles in the places of worship.

By adhering to the stipulated guidelines as worshipping, the worshippers have clearly expressed their enthusiasm and readiness to make any sacrifice that would enable them to reunite with their Creator.
