The Lagos State government in the bid to relocate the popular telecommunications hub popularly known as ‘Computer Village’ from Ikeja to Katangowa, has sought for the participation of stakeholders.
The government cited the need to provide a more well suited environment that would ease the stress of doing business as the reason for the planned relocation.
The computer hub would be relocated to the Katangowa market in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA area of the state.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako, disclosed this development at the stakeholders meeting held at Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA Secretariat, Abule Egba.

Salako stressed that the relocation began with the engagement of stakeholders, which was geared towards sharing vital information and deliberating on the successful takeoff of the project, which was expected to transform the landscape of the new location, and positively impact lives by providing succour to many. Adding that, by approving the infrastructure upgrade of the host community and the delivery of the project site, the present administration has given the desired impetus to the long awaited relocation to Katangowa.
He however, enjoined all to support the government’s drive for the development of the axis by giving maximum cooperation, especially by conceding to the right of way of the project where necessary, as this is germane to its successful completion.
